The family immigrated to Montreal, Canada, c 1841, then about 1846, the family moved to PA, where they operated boarding houses along the construction route of the New York and Erie Railroad, arriving in Chicago about 1848.
Margaret Hanlon was buried at Calvary Cemetery in 1867 and was probably moved from Lincoln Park Cemetery when that was closed.
