VERA EASTERLY OTTINGER

April 9, 2001

GREENEVILLE-Vera Easterly Ottinger, age 70, of Slate Creek Road, Greeneville, the Caney Branch Community, passed away Monday evening, April 9, 2001, at Takoma Adventist Hospital.

She was a faithful member of Loves Memorial United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted, and a member of Farm Bureau Women. She was a loving and caring wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to ev eryone. Her smile will be greatly missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvil Taylor Easterly and Viola Harmon; four brothers, Arvil Easterly, Jr., Robert Easterly, Jack Easterly, and Kenneth Easterly.

She is survived by her hus band, Fred, with whom she had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rocky and Helen Ottinger, Danny and Cathy Ottinger, and David and Melissa Ottinger; one daugh ter and son-in-law, Sandy and Tommy Jennings; five grand children, Kym Norton, Andrew Ottinger, Miranda Ottinger, Cody and Hannah Jennings; two step-grandchildren, Cindy Arnold and John Kampmeier; one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Billy Starnes, of Shelbyville, TN; three sisters-in-law, Blanche Easterly, of Pennsylvania, Betty Easterly, of Alabama, and Irene Easterly, of Ohio. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and a host of friends also survive.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Loves Memorial United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dan Palmer officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Kyker, Johnny Tweed, J.T. Clowers, Norman Smith, Jackie Easterly, Jonathan Ottinger, Jimmy Kilgore, and Jimmy Eastely.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of Loves Memorial United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends form 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at Kiser Funeral Home.
