James E. Yellets, 79, of Lancaster, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born March 11, 1929 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William F., Jr. and Lydia Ann Peters Yellets.
James retired from Bulova where he had been employed for 15 years. Following retirement he worked part-time at the Firestone Tire and Service Center in Lancaster. He enjoyed country and western music, miniature golf, and taking his nieces and nephews on summer vacations.
He will be lovingly missed by his nieces and nephews that he helped to raise, Lisa Magashko, Jason husband of Kathleen Pentz Yellets, Stacey wife of Chald Wolf, Michelle wife of Randy Herbein, Jr, Dennis Yellets, Cory Yellets and Jennifer Yellets. Also surviving are eight sisters, Doris L. Yellets companion of Dennis Becker, Emma Stone, Joanne wife of Larry Newcomb, Charlotte wife of James Roark, Ruth Scheid, Ethel Rineer, Helen Lefever, and Shirley Yellets; two borthers, George Yellets and Harry Yellets all of Lancaster. Also surviving is a nephew Roger Shay and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Lefever, Dorothy Yellets, and Evelyn Hunt and by brothers Charles Yellets and William F. Yellets, Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
