Son of Clement Gridley and Sarah Hubbard
Note: Some trees show he died in Granby, Mass. and wife was Ruth who died 1851; it is suspected these entries are incorrect.

m1: Abigal (unknown)
As of 1810 Elijah's household consisted of 4 males and 2 females. It may be they had 3 sons and 1 daughter living with them at that time.
Abigal died 1813.

m2: Mrs. Abigail Eliza (Upson) Gridley 1814, who was widow of Elijah's brother, James.

Elijah's will leaves his estate to his wife, Abigail and names her three surviving children (his stepchildren aka nieces & nephew), Elizabeth, Sarah and Samuel, as inheritors, subject to life estate of his wife. Wife Abigail and Samuel were executors. If Elijah had children from his first marriage, they were not included in his will and perhaps had predeceased him.

Note: Based on the medallion and flag on marker, it appears Elijah served in Revolutionary War.
