Funeral Sunday for Edwin Bergmann, 55, Heart Attack Victim
FREDERIKA (Special) - Funeral services were held Sunday at Methodist church here for Edwin Bergmann, 55, a native of the Frederika community. The Rev. Calvin Spree, pastor of the Plainfield Methodist church, was in charge.
Burial was in Alcock cemetery here, with Carl Neuendorf, Ruben Schnurstein, Wayne Bravener, Robert Miller, Fred Hahn and Marvin Harms as casket bearers.
Mr. Bergmann died Thursday of coronary thrombosis at the Tama County Home, Toledo, where he had been employed the last one and one-half years.
He was born Jan. 29, 1902 in Bremer county, the son of Ernst and Melosine Bergmann. He was baptized at St. Paul's church, Siegel, and attended gradeschool in Douglas township. He was married to Fietta Bany in 1923, and they farmed until moving to Toledo.
He is survived by his wife, a son Robert, Frederika; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Pose, New Hampton; a brother, Alvin Bergmann and a sister, Mrs. Selma Zander, both of Frederika.
He was preceded by his parents and two brothers.
