Decatur – Elmyra R. “Grandma Mike” Schroeder, 84 of Decaturpassed away at 4:50 p.m. July 5, 2008 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, inDawson & Wykoff Colonial Chapel North Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 p.m. till service time at the funeral home. Elmyra was born December 22, 1923, in Decatur the daughter of Elmer and Olitha (Bradshaw) Johnson. She was retired from Taylor Pharmaceutical Company.
Surviving is her daughter, Karen Branham and her husband Robert of Decatur. Grandchildren: Kathy Cushing-Miller and her husband Tod of Decatur, Junior Osborne and his wife Diana of Decatur, Penny Gray and her finace Michael Miller of Decatur and Julie Moore of Decatur. Great-Grandchildren:Jacob Cushing, Katie Cushing, Chord Miller, Kelsey Osborne, Kolby Osborne, Justin Gray and Samantha Stokes. Sister: Shirley Roberts of New York City, NY. Also surviving are two step-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren,her close friends from Willow Heights and her buddy Patsy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the nursing staff of CAR 5400 South at DMH for all their care and compassion during Elmyra’s illness.
