Elmer Eugene Johnson, 66, o 1170 N. Union St. died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday in Decatur and Macon County Hospital. He had been in failing health for three years.
Mr. Johnson was born in Blue Mound on June 30, 1900, the son of Harvey Manfred and Lucy May McQuality Johnson.
He lived in Decatur for 45 years and was a retired carpenter.
He married Oletha Bradshaw in Shelbyville in November, 1920.
He leaves three sons, Dean, Robert G. and Verne W., all of Decatur; four daughters, Mrs. Mary M. Good of Moline, Mrs. Elmira R. Mullis of Decatur, Mrs. Shirley J. Roberts of Germany and Mrs. Diane Sarver of Michigan; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery in Blue Mound.
