"Resolutions" Jellico Lodge No. 527 F. & A. M.

Where it has pleased the Grand Master of the Universe to call our Worthy and beloved brother Calvin Allen from labor here to rest in the celestial Lodge on high; therefore be it resolved: that as we acknowledge the wisdom and goodness of the Grand Master of the Universe, and bow in humble submission to His edit, yet we recognize that in the death of our beloved brother the Jellico Lodge looses (sic) a worthy member and a just and upright Mason, and the community in which he lived, looses (sic) a good citizen, and his family a noble husband and father, and we deplore the loss to the fraternity, to the family and to the friends and community in which he lived. Resolved: That in token of our sincere friendship and sympathy in the dark hour of this great affliction and as a pledge of our fraternity to the memory of our deceased brother, we extend to the bereaved widow and orphans, the fraternal right hand of free and accepted Masons; and with it the assurance of the Great Light, given of God to man will guide them and us to that spiritual building, eternal in the heavens, where their loved ones now dwell, where the broken circle shall be reunited never to be broken, and where they shall dwell together in peaceful happiness for ever and ever. Be it further resolved: That a copy of these resolutions be spread on the minutes of this lodge and a copy sent to the family, and a copy also furnished to the Advance Sentinel and Jellico Times.
