Sgt. Co. C 45th VA CSA. Enlisted April 1, 1862 in Russell County, Virginia. Taken POW at Piedmont June 5, 1864, sent to Camp Morton, exchanged on March 4, 1865.

Delegate to Democratic National Convention from Nebraska, 1892. Was a member of Nebraska state senate, 1893, 1899, 1913.

FIELDEN HALE PASSES AWAY

Was State Senator and Pioneer of Nebraska - Served in Civil War With South

Norfolk, Neb. Dec 5- Fielden J. Hale, ex-state senator, personal friend of W. J. Bryan and veteran of the civil war on the side of the south died at Burke S.D. Thursday afternoon. Funeral will be held at Battle Creek Saturday. Senator Hale was a pioneer of north Nebraska, platting the original town of Battle Creek. He came her from Virginia.
