Aged West Point Woman Died Tuesday



Mrs. Lucy Frances Walton, age 72, died at her home near West Point about 11 o'clock Tuesday night after an illness of several weeks. The deceased was the wife of Albert Walton, a life long resident of Chambers County and who has made his home near West Point since early manhood.

The deceased was a well-known and beloved Chambers County woman, being a member of a prominent Chambers County family, and interested for years in all forward movements for the betterment of people and conditions in her native soil.

Funeral services are to be held today at 3 p.m. at Emory Chapel, and interment will be in the near by cemetery. Rev. L. D. Adkins, pastor of the Methodist Church at Five Points, will be the officiating minister.

Surviving the deceased are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. E. W. Smartt, Five Points; Mrs. R. L. Stywald, of West Point, and Miss Fannie Lou Walton, of West Point; three brothers, R. H. Barnes, Thockmorten, Texas; G. B. Barnes, Gorman, Texas, and J. W. Barnes, Prattville, Ala.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Adams and Mrs. Nannie Dunford, of West Point; Mrs. Emily Hammond, of Franklin, Ga., and Mrs. Lula Moreman, of LaFayette.
