He was born in Tonopah, Nevada on June 26, 1919, to Dennis Hill and Margaret O'Donahue.
He married Rosalee Hamby on May 28, 1944 in Reno, NV. They lived in Carson City, NV for the last two years, coming from Smith Valley after 12 years. Prior to Smith Valley they lived in Reno.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, Catholic, and a life member of the Elks Club in Reno, NV.
Edward was a real estate broker in Reno for several years and owned and operated Hill & Hill Appliances in Reno and Carson City. He was a Public Administrator for Washoe County for 16 years.
Surviving are wife, Rosalee Hill, of Carson City; sons: John Hill and Richard Hill, both of Reno, James Hill, of Yerington, and Patrick Hill of Carson City; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward Hill Jr. in 1982; brothers: Jack, Denny and Tommy Hill; and sister, Margaret Ottini.
No services are scheduled. Private inurnment will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in Reno, NV.
