Douglas "Glen" Stanley, 58, a retired U.S. Postal Service worker, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007.
Funeral: Noon Saturday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home, Fort Worth.
Glen was born Dec. 13, 1948, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Polytechnic High in Fort Worth. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years. Glen was a lover of animals, science-fiction and movies and loved reading. He loved astronomy and geography and was known as a "walking encyclopedia." Glen was also known as a real jokester. He loved his daughters and especially his new grandson.
Survivors: Parents, Weldon and wife, Betty Stanley; daughters, Rachel and husband, Jeremy James, and Melissa and husband, Brad Proctor; grandson, Carson Proctor; aunt and uncle, Joyce and Hershal Robertson; numerous cousins; and his beloved cats, Isabelle and Bunky.
