Born July 6, 1922, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Edward and Mary Lucy Alexander Orth, he ws retired from Fisher-Body of Hamilton and a World War II veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Division and the 38th Infantry Division.
Surviving are a son, Robert E. Orth of Las Vegas, Nev; two daughters, Katherine Louise Orth of Lexington, Ky, and Sherrill Korenick of Hamilton; two brothers, James Orth of Lady Lakes, Fla, and Thomas Orth of Portsmouth; four sisters, Mildred McCall of Butler, Pa, Melba Clapham of Westerville, Ohio, Dora Mae Huffman of Portsmouth and Phyllis A. Sparks of Wheelersburg, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
He also was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the directions of Girton Schmidt and Boucher Funeral Home, 226 West Main St. Eaton.
