Ida Kruse was the daughter of Katherine Langemann and Herman Henry Kruse. Her father died when she was small, and her mother remarried another German immigrant farmer, Christian Wilhelm Conrad Duebbert (known as William). Katherine died round 1879-1880 after having two more daughters, Minnie and Amelia. Her stepfather quickly remarried yet another widow, Caroline Christine Charlotte Schnittker (nee Bischoff), who brought two more chiildren into the household, William and Christian Schnittker.
Ida married Wellington resident William Hindersmann (1866-1939) in Lexington, Lafayette County in 1891. They had four children: Otto, Henry, Amanda, and Meta.
