Lewis Claunch was born Sept. 11, 1915, and died June 14, 2004. Mildred Jones Claunch was born April 14, 1924, and died Feb. 22, 2008.
They were preceded in death by a son, Gary Hampton. They are survived by sons, Michael and Gregory, Pocatello; daughter, Marga Lee Backes, Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Hamp and Mildred were 66-year residents of Pocatello. They were preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Nora. Hamp is survived by brother, Lloyd, Prosser, Wash.; and sister, Veneta Melton, Talent, Ore. After returning from the South Pacific following World War II, Hamp had a long career with FMC. He was a craftsman and avid sports fan.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Evan Silas Jones and Una Frasure. Mildred is survived by sisters, Golda Yearsley, Pocatello. and Dova Hughes, Nampa. Mildred was preceded in death by brothers, Art, Ed, Troy and three sisters, Velma Haislip, Alta Jones and Viva Maheras. Mildred was a devoted wife for 64 years. She had a long career in nursing before her retirement in 1976.
We were blessed to have had such wonderful, loving parents. They were, and will continue to be the "wind beneath our wings."
