Veteran of the American Revolution. He was a Lieutenant in the "Scituate Hunters" which marched to Cambridge at the Lexington Alarm and was part of Col.Hitchcock's Regiment that fought at Bunker Hill. Afterwards stationed at Brooklyn Heights and took part in battles of Long Island and Harlem. He and his company were with Washington at the crossing of the Delaware and taking of Trenton and Princeton.
