Civil War Union soldier; born about 1834, he was a resident of Carver in Carver County, Minnesota, and enlisted at 30 years of age on March 30, 1864. He was Private in Company B, 3rd Minnesota Infantry.

His wife Catherine was born in 1834 in Sweden. They had two children, Andrew P. (b. 1856 in MN) and Bregita (b. 1858 in MN).

Less than a year after he enlisted, on Feb. 2, 1865, Lars died of disease at Little Rock, Arkansas.
