Mrs Sharrock was born three miles east of Jamestown and lived in the county during her entire life. Her father was George Newcomb who worked at the San Francisco U S Mint before coming to Tuolumne County in the early 50's.

MRS SHARROCK ANSWERS CALL
Mrs Emma E Sharrock died at her home in the Algerine section last Thursday. The deceased was born at Algerine on May 9th, 1858 and at the time of her death was aged 70 years. 8 months and 1 day. With the exception of a few years she live din Sonora when her husband, the late George A Sharrock, who died about a year go , was Constable of this township, she spent most of her life on the ranch where she died.
Deceased was born of pioneer parents and her maiden name was Newcomb. She was married 45 years ago and the fruits of the union were three sons, George, San Francisco; Warren, Sonora and Lloyd who clerks in the Mallard grocery store, this city. A loving mother and dutiful sons who cared for her in her last days of sorrow and sickness, as she nursed and cared for them in their youth and until they reached manhood.
The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon from the C H Burden Chapel, internment in the IOOF cemetery.
