RETIRED FAIRFIELD FARMER
ARCHIE MILLER, 88, DIES
Archie Miller, 88, a well known retired Fairfield farmer, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday at Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Miller had been hospitalized since Nov. 23, suffering from complications due to his advanced age. He had not been well for a couple of years.
Services Conducted
Services were conducted Thursday afternoon (today) at Nales Funeral Home in Faifiled with Rev. Ted Padgett officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born in Wayne County, Oct. 12, 1889, the son of Charles and Anna (Brancle(?) Miller.
He was married to Maggie Molt in 1912 and one son was born to them. She died in 1934. In November of 1935, he was married to Lena Walker, of rural Fairfield.
Mr. Miller was a life-long farmer in the Fairfield area.
He helped organize the Wayne County Farm Bureau and was one of the charter members. Mr. Miller also was an agent for Country LIfe Insurance Co.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfield.
Later, he operated a petroleum truck in Wayne County for Wabash Valley and Wayne-Hamilton Service Company for 18 years.
The Survivors
Surviving are his widow, Lena; one son, Charles M. Miller, of Fairfield; one brother, Charles C. Miller, of Calimesa, Calif., two sisters, Velma Todd of Alhambra, Calif., and Ada Mason, of Boston, Mass. and one granson.
