When about 3 years of age with his parents, he moved to and settled on the old farm which he afterwards owned and lived upon until twelve years ago -- 1903 ,when he moved to the town of Altamont where he died 11 Jan 1917, at the age of 77 years. Came about 1843.
He served 3 years with the Union Army in First Reg. Company A, First Missouri State Militia. After the war he returned to Mo where he was engaged in general farming and stock raising Jan 18, 1917 page 4 colomn 4 , Gallatin paper 25 Jan 1917 page 5 column 3.

He was in Co.B 1 REG. CAV. M.S.M. VOL in the Civil War.

Baptized: on 3 June 1879 and united with the Prairie Ridge congregation, now the Altamont Christian church.
