DRUMMER BOY OF FAMOUS ELEVENTH CALLED BY DEATH

Henry Fightner, who served as a drummer boy in Colonel Coulter's Eleventh Pennsylvania volunteers, died at his home in Jeannette last night from heart failure. Mr. Feightner had not been in good health for several months but his death was not expected. Mr. Feightner was born in Greensburg almost sixty-five years ago. On August 28, 1861, he went out with Company I of the Eleventh. He took part in the battles of Bull Run and Antietam and was wounded in the first day's fighting at Gettysburg. He served until the end of the war and held a commission as sergeant when the company was mustered out. Mr. Feightner moved to Jeannette from Greensburg fifteen years ago. He is survived by his widow and seven children: Mrs. Lizzie McCurdy, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Anna Claudius and Mrs. Harry Butler, of McKeesport; Mrs. Jennie Bomer, of Greensburg; Stella, at home; John, of Johnstown, and Augustus, at home. He leaves six grandchildren. He leaves four sisters: Mrs. Susan Karns and Mrs. John Kibble, of Greensburg; Mrs. Daniel Smeltzer, of Jeannette, and Mrs. Jennie Anderson, of Oil City, and two brothers; William Feightner, of Greensburg and Jacob Feightner, of Monessen. The funeral services will be held at the Most Holy Sacrament Church, Greensburg, Friday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
