ALLEN, CHARLEY, 93, of Okolona, passed away October 9, 2006 at the University Hospital. Mr. Allen was a retired storekeeper and gauger for the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Agency, a member of the Summit Heights Methodist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, the former Mary Henry; a son, William Allen (Shirley); a daughter, June Carol Balthrop; three grandsons, Todd Balthrop (Cindy), David Balthrop (Rebecca), and Michael Allen (Lara); five great-grandchildren, Cory, Hannah, Kullen and Dillon Balthrop, Charles Allen. His funeral services will be noon Thursday at Arch L. Heady & Son, Okolona, with burial in the Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Heart Association.
