Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Roddy Charlie and Girlie Crapps Roberts. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are daughters; sons; sisters; Virtilla Smith of Gilbert and Gertrude Crapps of West Columbia [both now deceased]; and brothers, Leopard Roberts of West Columbia and Charlie Roberts of Leesville [both now deceased].
