Burdett Mullins was born February 26, 1941 in Jackson County and departed this life Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at his residence, at the age of 67. He was the son of the late Willie & Mary (Clemmons) Mullins.
Burdett is survived by his loving wife- Reba (Lakes) Mullins of McKee and by three children-Dewayne Mullins of Mt. Vernon, Lisa Lyons and Charlene Rose both of Sand Gap. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters- Ethel Rollins of Irvine, Bradley Mullins, Geraldine Toler, Amos Mullins, Rosie Isaacs and Herman Mullins all of Sand Gap. Burdett was blessed with nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Burdett was also preceded in death by two daughters-Donna Sheryl Bond and Connie Mullins; by two brothers- Alvin & Clarence Mullins and by a sister- Rita Mae Jones.
Funeral service was held 2:00 PM Friday, August 1, 2008 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Ellis Abner officiating. Burial followed in the Combs Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
