Georgia Ann (Annie) was the daughter of George W. and Louzany (Burns) Matthews. On 22 Dec 1881, in DeKalb County, Georgia Ann married William S. Terry, a farm hand who had worked for her father. The couple had one son, John, before they separated. According to the 1900 U.S. federal census, she was divorced, and it appears that Georgia Ann went back to her maiden name then (on her gravestone). She is buried with her son, John C. Terry.
