Abigail was the first daughter of Bradbury Blake and Sarah Hilton. She married James Carter March 5, 1811 probably in Fairfax, Vt. Her father, Bradbury, was in Fairfax from about 1796-1810, then moved to Richmond, Vt and on to Randolph, Crawford, PA where he died. His wife, Sarah, went west with her son Levi and died in Racine, WI in 1843. Abigail had 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Her sisters who survived into adulthood were Mary who married Eli Stockwell, Sarah who married Benjamin Sweeney and Belinda who married James Watson. Her brothers were Jonathan who married Hannah Bates and Levi who married Mary Ann Sanford. One sibling, gender unknown, died October 29, 1791.
