Leonard Vincent's family was a pioneer family of Jefferson Co. & can be traced back to England to Kings & Queens. He married first Mary Johnson on having their third child which didn't survive his wife also shortly died from complications. He started taking his daughter & her friend Clarissa to local dances as a chaperon. That was how he met and married his second wife Clarissa (Clara)Ross. It has been said that he never stopped loving his first wife Mary but Clara & him had 10 children. All of his children are listed below. My grandmother Arthurs wife used to tell how as he got older he would get mad and come at Clara with his cane waving it high above her head & she would calmly go about what she was doing as if he wasn't there, paying him no mind. Grandma asked her once if she wasn't afraid he would hit her & Clara said no he wouldn't dare..The Vincent men liked the outdoors, avid hunters & fishermen. They also loved children.
