Fred Acton, 65, passes beyond
Funeral services to be held tomorrow afternoon at Pisgah church.
Edinburgh, Aug. 13. - Fred Acton, 65, prominent county farmer nearly half a century, died yesterday at his home three miles northwest of Edinburg after a short illness. He had been ill for a week with a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Pisgah Christian church. Friends may call at the home until time for the funeral.
Mr. Acton was born Feb. 12, 1870, near the Johnson-Bartholomew county line in the Kansas neighborhood and was the son of Thomas and Belle Holdcroft Acton. He married Julia Ann Prichard in 1894 and had spent most of his life in the rural community near here where he was a farmer and carpenter. Although he had been in declining health for several years, his illness did not become critical until a week ago.
Surviving are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Harold Farr, of Indianapolis; a brother, Edward Acton, of Fortville; a half brother, George Acton of Franklin; a half sister, Mrs. Alice Bills, of Indianapolis, and several other relatives.
