Noah Summerrow was the son of Ann Summerow.

Noah married in Lincoln County, North Carolina, Ann Elizabeth Loretz on December 24, 1850.

His estate was probated in Catawba Co., NC. A notice listing Ann E. Summerrow as Executrix was placed in the Newton Enterprise (Newton, NC) December 11, 1891.

He began a fruit tree raising nursery about 1856 and was shipping peach and apple trees to Wilmington (NC) as late as November 1885.

They were listed in the NC 1860 Census near Kelliams Mill in Lincoln County, NC, as: Noah Summerow, age 32; Ann, age 31; Alice, age 9; Theodorea, age 7; Angeline, age 5; Ann C., age 2; Ella, age 5 months; Lofa (Sofa) Burns, 37, f, laborer; Marion Edmond, age 18, Laborer; Wesley Hedspeth, age 28, Farmer; Elmira [Summerow] Hedspeth, age 47; Peter Summerow, age 18, laborer; Sarah Hoyle, age 11; and Elizabeth Summerow, age 58.

They were listed in the August 28, 1870, US Census in Union Township, Lincoln Co., NC, as Noah Summerrow, Farmer, 41; Ann L., 40; Alice, 18; Dora, 16; Angie, 14; Katie, 12; Beauregard, 9; Lee, 6; no name, dau, 1/12; with John Milaholland, 22, farm laborer; Jim Killiam, (black) 64, shoe maker (from image of census).

They were listed in the NC 1880 Census in Lincolnton as Noah Summerrow, 51, Farmer (both parents born in NC); Ann, wife, 50, Keeping House; Katie, dau. 22; Beauford, son, 18; Lee, son, 16; Caroline, dau., 10; and Rosa Tucker, niece, 21; all born in North Carolina.

Noah and his family lived in Lincoln County before he moved into the Professors House at the College in Newton, where he opened a boarding house for Catawba High School and Female School of Newton in July 1880. This boarding house was known as the Summerrow House.

They had eight children:
