(I talked to Silva's brother J.W., yesterday at work and he was telling me about Silva always talking about riding horses with daddy (Joe Vaughn) when they were young men. They were first cousins and spent a lot of time around each other. J.W. told me that Silva would tell stories about his horse, Frank and daddy's horse, Ginger and the riding they did. I remember well the stories that daddy always told of the days when he was a young man and would take off with family or friends on their horses. Sometimes to hear him talk you'd get the feeling that he was born a hundred and fifty years too late. It was good to talk to Silva's brother and to know that they both shared those good memories of my own daddy.
