J. Wallace Carrico, Sr., 81, died Tuesday at 5:43 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Knoxville.
He was a farmer most of his life, retiring in 1950. He was born Jan. 7, 1891 at Springfield, Ky. He had farmed in the southern part of Warren County and moved to Galesburg in 1950.
He married Nannie E. Smith on Jan. 29, 1913, at Bardstown, Ky. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, George of Knoxville and James W.,Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Milan (Ann) Bridges, Rock Island, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Higham, East Moline, Mrs. C. W. (Peggy) Wilson, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. W. L. (Ginger) Fleck, Galesburg; two brothers, Arnold of Avon and Clarence who lives in Kentucky; a sister, Mrs. Bert Mudd, who also resides in Kentucky; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Although the obituary gives Bardstown, Kentucky as the place of marriage, their marriage certificate shows they were married at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Raywick, Marion County, Kentucky.
