Married to Stiles Jeffries on December 11, 1919. Mother of Leo R., Russell Lee, Lois Stiles, Agnes Maxine, and Charles Robert Jeffries.

Mrs. Nellie O. Jeffries

Chalmers -- Mrs. Nellie O. Colvin Jeffries, 78, of Chalmers, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday in Indiana Veterans Home. She had been in failing health the past three months.

Born at Brookston, she was a graduate of Brookston Academy. She lived in Chalmers before moving to the Home last November.

In 1919 she was married at Lafayette to Stiles Jeffries, who died in 1970.

Mrs. Jeffries was a member of Community Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Book Club, all at Chalmers, Big Creek Home Demonstration Club and Brookston Order of Eastern Star. She also was a member and past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are three sons, Leo Jeffries of Brookston, Russell Jeffries of Battle Ground and Loys Jeffries of West Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Maxine) Dunker of Brookston; two brothers, Ernest Colvin of West Lafayette and Ralph Colvin of Lafayette; and two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Georgia) Pritts and Mrs. Ray (Katheryn) Newton, both of Lafayette.

Friends may call at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, 5-9 p.m. Saturday with Eastern Star rites at 7:30 p.m. Service in Hartzler Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Michael J. Owens officiating. Interment Chalmers Community Cemetery. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. A son, Charles and three sisters preceded in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Hemophilia of Indiana.
