MILLER - Died at 8:45 o'clock Tuesday morning, October 27, 1908, at the family residence, 911 West Washington street, of pneumonia, George Washington Miller, aged 75 years.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 o'clock tomorrow morning at the residence and at 11 o'clock at the Christian church in Salisbury. Interment will be in Salisbury cemetery.
Decedent was a native of Sangamon county, being born at Salisbury, and was one of the oldest men born in the county. For many years he was engaged in carriage manufacturing in this city and Salisbury and was the proprietor of the Miller carriage factory which operated here several years ago.
When he abandoned carriage making he engaged in the grocery business, successfully operating a store in Salisbury for many years. He was a stockholder in the LaFayette Smith Grocery company here and the owner of extensive Sangamon county property interests.
He retired from active business life ten years ago and removed to this city, making this city his residence since.
Surviving are the wife and following children: Dr. Joseph Miller of Chicago, Ernest Miller of Pueblo, Colo., and Mrs. A.W. Halbert, 1027 West Washington street, this city.
