Services for Mrs. Myrtle Castillow Ringold, 54, wife of Dr. Oscar E. Ringold, were held at three p.m. Thursday afternoon, Nov. 4 in the First Baptist Church of Cleveland with the Rev. Charles A. Webb officiating assisted by Dr. I. D. Eavenson of Marks and Dr. Richard A. Bolling of Cleveland.
Burial followed in the New Cleveland Cemetery with Fletcher Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Ringold died at 1:25 a. m. Wednesday morning in the Cleveland City Hospital following an illness of one week.
Born in Frisco City, Alabama, she was a graduate of Forrest High School in Dallas, Texas and of Baylor University School of Nursing in Dallas. She was later superintendent of the obstetrical division of Florence Nightingale Hospital, division of Baylor University and was a registered nurse and an anesthetist.
She and Dr. Ringold met while attending school and later married in September 1931 moving to Cleveland in 1933 where he has practiced since that time. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Cleveland Woman's Club, Cleveland Garden Club, the American Legion Auxiliary of Glen Crosby Post 165, and a charter member of Bolivar County Salon 462, 8 et 40, and the Beta Unit of the Mississippi Association of Parliamentarians.
She leaves her husband, Dr. Oscar E. Ringold of Cleveland; a daughter, Miss Sadie Mae Ringold of Cleveland and MSCW; and three brothers, Otis Castillow of Fort Smith, Ark.; Roy Castillow of Little Rock, Ark.; and Grady Castillow of Miami, Fla.
