Samuel Ransom Louderback was the son of Peter L. and "Ella" Louella J. (Ogden) Louderback. He married Lucille Elizabeth Runion July 4, 1912 in Chillicothe, Livingston County, Missouri.

Samuel and Lucille moved first to Everett, Washington in 1918 and then to Tacoma in 1919 where they lived until moving to Hoquiam, Washington in 1928. Prior to coming to Washington they may have lived briefly in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Their 14 children were:
Chester Leroy, Helen Lucille, Catha Idlee, Betty Louise, Margie Pauline, Billie Lorraine, Junior aka Samuel, Jack Richard, Shirley Jane, J.T., Dorothy Nadine, Donald Eugene, Nancy Carol, and Sharon Ann.

Samuel ran an appliance store in Hoquiam for a few years before going to work at Rayonier where he stayed for 20 years. He played baseball on the Rayonier team until he was 50. He retired in 1955. He was a member of the Hoquiam Eagles for 40 years and served as it's president. They raised their family in Hoquiam and moved to Mason Lake in Mason County, WA until Samuel returned to Hoquiam after Lucille's death.

Samuel and Lucille celebrated their 50th anniversary the year before Lucille died. They are buried together in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Hoquiam, WA.
