He was born on January 11, 1925 in Henderson IL to Irving and Emma (Nelson) Davison. He married Margaret Thompson in Galesburg on November 1, 1959. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Mickey Davison; a step-son, Garry (and Marion) Thompson of Battle Creek, MI; a daughter, Shelley Kiel; a step-daughter, Judy Randolph of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Irving Davison of Henderson, IL and Pat Davison of Hutchinson, MN; three sisters, Dorothy Bowles of Lexington, KY, Evelyn Shaver of Henry, IL and Helen Watters of Galesburg, IL; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Four sisters and a granddaughter, Tia Randolph, preceded him in death.
He was a switchman for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 26 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a 1942 graduate of Galesburg High School, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2257. He served with the US Navy for two years being stationed in Cuba.
He played professional and semi-professional baseball prior to, and during, his railroad career. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday December 8, 2001 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, with Rev. Tom Larsen officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
