LAWRENCE HOELTER, 56, DIES SUDDENLY TODAY

Lawrence Henry "Pickles" Hoelter, 56, of 2309 East 20th street, died suddenly at 1:50 a.m. today at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he was admitted early last evening after suffering an apparent stroke.

Mr. Hoelter, who was note believed to be in ill health and had worked yesterday, collapsed while watching television at home about 7 o'clock last night. He was employed as a crane operator at General Steel Industries, from whom he had received his 25-year award last May.

Born in Mitchell and a life long resident of the local community, Mr. Hoelter was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. For many hears he also had been active in Eagles Lodge 1123.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mildred Kay Hoelter; five sons, Larry, James, Gene and Dean Hoelter, all of Granite City, and John Hoelter of Huntington, Calif.; two brothers, Ray and Alvin Hoelter, both of Granite City; one sister Mrs. Norman (Lucille) Branding of Edwardsville; and 13 grandchildren.

His remains will lie in state at the Pieper Funeral Home, 1929 Cleveland Blvd, Granite City. Services Wednesday, Aprl. 13 at 8:30 a.m. from Pieper's to St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville.
