Mrs. Brooks was born in London, England, and came to Cheyenne with her first husband, John Ames, 34 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Ames will be remembered as the owners of the sites on which now stand the Inter Ocean and Becker hotels. After the death of Mr. Ames and her remarriage some years later to Mr. Brooks, she and her husband removed to North Platte, returning to this city only a few months ago.
She is survived by her husband, a sister, Mrs. Freeman, and a brother, Henry Astman, of Omaha. Mrs. Dobbins of this city is a stepdaughter.
The funeral service will take place at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
