Mrs. Sarah G. Lawson, wife of Robert Lawson of this city, died yesterday in St. Luke's hospital in San Francisco. She had not been well for some time and the family left this city last July to spend some time in California in the hopes of benefiting her health. She had been improving and the news of her sudden relapse and death was received with a shock by her friends and relatives in Cheyenne.
The deceased is the daughter of John Gordon, a pioneer of Wyoming, who lives in Worland and she also has a brother, Tom, at that place.
Twenty-five years to the day she went to the hospital she was married to Robert Lawson and they had since made their home here. Mr. Lawson was in charge of the experiment farm, and they had made their home on the ranch at that place.
Mr. Lawson is also survived by Mrs. John Chaplin of Cheyenne and Mrs. W. G. Bruce, sisters of Mr. Lawson, Angus Lawson, all of this city, and Dan Lawson, at whose home they were visiting in California. She was a member and past matron of the Oak Leaf chapter of the Eastern Star.
The body will be brought to Cheyenne and funeral arrangements will be made later.
