Friedrich (Fritz) Lange was born to Maria Luise Friederika Henrietta Woltermann (Luise) and Franz Joseph Lange (Frank) on October 5, 1867 in Wald Bei Aplerbeck. He was christened on October 24, 1867 in Aplerbeck, Westfalen, PreuBen, Germany.
