Born April 8, 1918, in Larksville, he was a son of the late John and Katarina (Koblen) Adamcik.
Mr. Adamcik resided for many years in Michigan, where he had been employed by General Motors. He retired to Sun City, Ariz., for several years and eventually returned to this area in the late 1990s.
He was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Nanticoke. John will be remembered for his love of automobiles and was an avid Detroit baseball fan.
He was preceded in death by his brother, the Rev. Daniel Adamcik; sisters Irene Adamcik and Susan Sinzdak.
Surviving are a nephew, the Rev. David Adamcik, California; and a niece, Mary Catherine Lantz, Oregon; great-nieces and great-nephews; his extended family, Ronald and Mary Sinzdak, North Carolina; Walter and Dolores Sinzdak, New Jersey; Helen Dula, New Jersey; and their families.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Reverend Marjorie Keiter officiating.
Interment will follow in Nanticoke Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday after 1:30 p.m.
