Mrs. Rhoda J. Adams, 89, of 212 Goldstein St. (Punta Gorda), beloved wife of the late Ennett Adams, died early Thursday morning at her home. She was born and raised n Punta Gorda.
Mrs. Adams has been a member of the Punta Gorda Presbyterian Church for over 53 years. She has held an active office in the Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge No. 60 for many years and the Royal Neighbors of America. She was also actively engaged in Charlotte County politics until her illness.
She is survived y one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Daughtrey of Punta Gorda; one brother, J. C. Johns of Tampa; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Nowland of Sebring and Mrs. Dora Sugggs of Arcadia; one grandson, N. Gerald Daughtrey Sr. of Niceville, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Mrs. Iris Weakley of Niceville; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the Punta Gorda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Reese Y. Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Ogden Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Noel Collier, Fred King, Paul Rasch, R. C. Bonnell, Frank Smoak and Vasco Peeples.
