Crash on U.S. 60 at Middletown fatal to driver

Martin Albert (Marty) Storch, 77, of 322 Tucker Station Road, died yesterday afternoon of injuries suffered when his car and another collided just east of Middletown, Jefferson County police reported.
County Patrolman Edwin Davis said Storch was entering U.S. 60 from Old Shelbyville Road when his automobile and an eastbound car collided. Both cars spun around, Davis said, and the eastbound car overturned and crossed the median before coming to rest.
Deputy Coroner Barry Foreman said Storch was dead on arrival at 3 p.m. at Kentucky Baptist Hospital of head and internal injuries.
Storch was a retired machine operator for Hillerich & Bradsby Co. He also was a former member of the Shepherdsvile, Jeffersontown and Jefferson County police departments.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lena Zeitz, a daughter, Mrs. J C Waldridge, a brother, Anthony Storch Sr., 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McAfee Funeral Home, 3928 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. The body will be at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.

Beloved husband of Lena Zeitz Storch, devoted father of Mrs. J C (Hazel) Waldridge, brother of Anthony Storch Sr. also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday January 5th at the McAfee Funeral Home, 3928 Bardstown Road. Entombment Resthaven Mausoleum.
