Benjamin Packham

Benjamin Packham, 61, of Bristol Lake, Route 1, Dowling, was dead on arrival at a local hospital at 2:25 a.m. today. Coroner Ralph Callahan said that the death was from a heart attack. Mr. Packham, a retired civil service employee and former painter at Ft. Custer, had been in ill health for six years.

He was born March 21, 1893 in Hobart, Ind., the son of Benjamin and Mary (Bowen) Packham, Sr., and was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife, the former Thelma Terrell, to whom he was married April 17, 1920; three sons, Ransom Packham of Bristol Lake, Ralph Packham of Kalamazoo and Jack Packham of 226 1/2 Howland St.; one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis McGrew of 437 Waubascon Rd.; one sister, Mrs. Alice Terrell of 119 Walter Ave.; two brothers, Gib Packham of 223 S. McCamly St., and John Packham of Hobart, Ind., and nine grandchildren.
