Mrs. Della McClellan Thornton, 80, Route 1, Heidelberg, died Sunday night in a Laurel hospital following a lengthy illness. A life long resident of Heidelberg, she was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Her husband Henry Grady Thornton, preceded her in death in February, 1977.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Philadelphia United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Covington officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body was to have been taken to Heidelberg Chapel at 5:30 today and will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
She is survived by two sons, Henry Elmer "Bill" Thornton of New Orleans, Marvin "Ted" Thornton of Heidelberg; two daughters, Mrs. Grover (Liz) Shedd of Heidelberg, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Boyer of Indianalo; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Memory Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
