Will of Frances (Fanney) Allen 19 Aug 1851 - Burke County, Ga State of Georgia }Burke County } In the name of God Amen I Frances Allen being duly impressed with the uncertainty of life and being in a low state of health but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows. Item 1st After the payment of all my just debts I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Sidney Jones the sum of one dollar. I also give & bequeath unto my Grand Son Philip A. Sapp the sum of one dollar, both Sidney Jones & Philip A Sapp being the children of my Daughter Frances Sapp wife of Everette Sap deceased. Item 2d I give and bequeath unto my Grand Children to wit Henry Bell Wesley Bell and Caroline Brown the sum of One dollar each they being the children of my daughter Mary Brantly. Item 3d I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Frances Rice the sum of One Dollar she being the Daughter of my Daughter Ann H. Dunn deceased. Item 4th The residue of All the property I have made since the death of my husband James Allen I want to be equally divided between the following heirs to wit. William Lassiter, Hugh Allen, James P. Allen, William Allen, William Brantly, Thomas T. Ellison, and William B. Hawkinson. Item 5th I do hereby appoint and leave as my whole sole Executors my esteemed Sons in Law William Lassiter and William B. Hawkinson. Item 6th I do hereby acknowledge this to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills made by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this nineteenth day of August Eighteen Hundred and fifty One (1851).

Georgia }Burke County } In Open Court personally came William E. Lassiter of said County One of the subscribing Witnesses to the annexed paper who being duly Sworn deposeth and Saith that he saw Fanney Allen sign Seal and publish the annexed paper (now here to the Court presented) as her last will and Testament freely and of her own accord , that at the time of signing said will and Testament said Testator was of sound and deposing mind and memory -- that deponent saw Elisha B. Baycron wand Joseph A. Shoemake that other two Subscribing witnesses sign the same and that Deponent together with the other two said witnesses signed the same as witnesses in the presence of Each other and of said Testator at her special instance and request. Sworn to and Subscribed }in Open Court } W. E. Lassiter This May 4th 1854 }Edward ??, O. B. C. }The last Will and Testament of Fanney Allen (late decease of Burke County) having this day been produced in Open Court by William B. Hawkinson one of the Executors named therein and having been properly proven by the Affidavit of William E. Lassiter one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto. -- It is ordered that the Same be admitted to Record and filed in this office in terms of the Law -- that letters Testamentary do issue in terms of the Statute to William B. Hawkinson one of the Executors named in Said Will and that Warrant of Appraisement do issue to Joseph A. Shoemake, Sunian Bell, Minus McElmurray, Ransom Lewis, and Oscar L.
