Lower Burrell
Anna Groza, 91, of Lower Burrell, died Friday, May 30, 2008, in the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights. She was born Dec. 12, 1916, in Georgetown, Gilpin Township, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Danka) Groza. She was employed as a laboratory technical assistant with PPG Industries in Harmarville for 15 years, retiring in 1982. She was formerly employed by the former Walters Manufacturing Plant in Oakmont as a machine operator for 10 years. She was also a hairdresser in Oakmont for several years. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, in New Kensington, and enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by her sister, Catherine Groza, of Lower Burrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Wypiski, Florence Russo, Bette Franzi and Julia Brandolino. Friends will be welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at CLAWSON'S, Second at Main, Leechburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington. (Everyone please meet at the church.) Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township.
