"Gladys Mueller Griesedieck, a community volunteer who was a member of a prominent St. Louis family, died of infirmities Oct. 17, 1991 at St. John's Skilled Nursing Center in Creve Coeur. She was 93. Mrs. Griesedieck, a longtime resident of Richmond Heights, was a volunteer for many years in local organizations. She was a life board member of the St. Louis chapter of the American Lung Association and a past president of the women's auxiliary of the St. Louis Altenheim. An alumna of the Delta Gamma sorority, Mrs. Griesedieck was active in the 1960s and 1970s in the Delta Gamma Foundation Christmas lot. She was also active in the Girl Scouts and was a member of the Wednesday Club. She was the widow of Henry Griesedieck, president of the American Pulverizer Co. They were married for 42 years; he died in 1965. Mrs. Griesedieck was born in St. Louis and graduated in 1920 from Washington University, where she was a member of the Mortar Board, a national honorary society. A private funeral service was held Oct. 21 at Gerber Chapel, 23 West Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves. Burial was in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Among the survivors are two daughters, Jane Webster of Frontenac and Ann Morrissey of west St. Louis County; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. "
