Julius Block, son of Peter Block and Dorothea Ringsted Block, was born in Norre Kongerslev, Denmark, August 3, 1896. In 1912 he came with his parents to the United States and they moved to a farm three miles north of Bostwick where he made his home until 1961 when he retired from farming and moved to Superior.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Denmark and attended Bethel Lutheran Church near Abdal.
He was preceded in death by his parents and leaves to mourn his death four brothers and three sisters, Andrew Block of San Jose, California, Mrs. Karen Jensen, of Eugene, Oregon, Laurits Block of Norre Kongerslev, Denmark, Peter Block of Bostwick, Chris Block of Nampa, Idaho, Mrs. Christine Hanson, Superior, and Mrs. Gerda Nielsen of Bostwick.
Funeral services were held from the Megrue Funeral Home Wednesday, June 10, with the Rev. Albert Rasmussen officiating, and interment was in Evergreen.

Their original family name was Andreason, then changed to Bloch, and later to Block.
