Sister of Miss Amelia Jackson and Mrs Walter Hollen both of Washington DC

Her father, James W Jackson, was the proprietor of the old Marshall House in Alexandria Virginia. He shot and killed Col Ellsworth of the New York Zouaves on May 24 1861 for removing a Confederate flag from his hotel and was immediately killed by a Federal soldier.

She was also a first cousin of Admiral Robley D Evans and Mrs Hugh T Taggart of Washington DC and a niece of the late Judge H W Thomas who was a part lieutenant governor of Virginia.
